Emergency Preparedness Office
The Emergency Preparedness Office (EPO) coordinates overall planning and preparedness efforts for the California Department of Public Health (CDPH).
Licensing and Certification
Licensing and Certification is responsible for monitoring the provision of patient care throughout California.
Drinking Water and Radiation Laboratory Branch and Environmental Management
Responsible for supporting state drinking water program and CDPH Radiologic Health Branch; participates in emergency planning and exercises for California's nuclear power plants and oversees the disposal of medical waste.
Environmental and Occupational Disease Control
Environmental and Occupational Disease Control contributes to the prevention and control of environmental disease and provides laboratory testing and reference services to local health departments and state health department programs.
Laboratory Science provides laboratory technical services to support emergency operations of the CDPH laboratories.
Food, Drug and Radiation Safety
Food, Drug and Radiation Safety has responsibilities that include ensuring the safety of food, drugs, medical devices, cosmetics, bottled and hauled water, and radioactive sources.
Communicable Disease Control
Communicable Disease Control branches strengthen public health infrastructure to detect, identify, investigate and control illnesses.
